dear friends,
today i’ll be talking about the Kundalini awakening process and share a view on it that will hopefully help you understand better the nature of this process.
if this is a new concept to you, you can check out my articles: What is Ascension? , The Kundalini Ascension Process , and collective awakening and the Second Coming of Christ.
for me Kundalini energy is like an ever-flowing river of energy. it is always moving and always changing. just like the river.
when i observe the energy, there is this sense of the energy flowing through the spine – it is pouring into the body from the earth and from the sky, into the earth and into the sky, in a double-ended motion.
we receive energy from and give it back to the earth through the base of our spine and also through our feet. we receive energy from and give it back to the sky through the crown of our head. our hands are active energetic wheels, and we can receive from and give to both the earth and the sky through them.
when the Kundalini is awakened, we begin to become conscious of life-force flowing in our system. often when it awakens spontaneously (which is happening increasingly nowadays, read about it in the article about the collective awakening), we often experience a “cleansing process“. this is when the energy cleanses our energetic system from any kind of blockages.
blockages are limiting beliefs, limiting thoughts, wounds of the past, traumas. anything that is blocking us from being fully Here and Now and from experiencing Divine Love, or the Love of God/the Universe.
it seems like the ultimate goal of the awakening process is to be a vessel of free flowing energy, so that we can be a channel of Divine Love on this planet, a love that is unconditional in the Here and Now and embraces all of creation.
when our mind is pure and our heart is pure, we can be in Service of Love and be a healing catalyser on this Earth we inhabit, fulfilling our soul’s highest purpose and living in our highest potential.
the cleansing process can be challenging, it is basically a healing process. the energy is moving around the system, “taking out the trash” that’s been kept unconscious.
as i experienced my own cleansing process, visualising the Kundalini energy in my system as a river has been helpful. the river is for a me a Great Teacher, showing me how everything is temporary, yet some things are stable. today i’ll share some view on this.
spend time by a river. you will see that some things are always the same: the water is always flowing, always changing. the river bed is stable soil. sometimes there are obstacles in the way of the water – the water to change route, push through or bounce back in order to continue its flow.
see the cleansing process as the water removing the rocks. sometimes there might be a dam – a lot of water or water pressure will be needed in order to take down the dam. the river will always seek to destroy the dam that contains it – it wants to flow its way into the ocean.
Kundalini is the river and the water. as the water it will work its way around or against any barrier. your ego is the rocks and the barriers. i can tell you that eventually the power of the water will overthrow any obstacle.
let your consciousness be the stable river bed. observe the movements of the water and the resistance of the rocks from the unchanging nature of your witness consciousness. this will help you remain sane and stay grounded as the energy twirls and twists around.
imagine when a dam is taken down. that can be a violent event. that’s why sometimes an awakening process can be violent. these are the “violent” ego deaths, those that are difficult either because you have to accumulate a lot of water in order to destroy the dam, or because a lot of water comes all at once and that can be overwhelming.
have you ever seen how water flows around a big rock ? sometimes the water bounces back. these moments might feel like setbacks but they’re really about the water working its way around the rock. eventually the water will make the rock roll away, or it’ll consume it away.
what we can be assured, is that once the Kundalini is active, the water is flowing and it’s working to get rid of any obstacles or barriers to its flow.
rivers can be fast-flowing or slow-flowing, they can be very loud or very silent. sometimes we can experience a period when the energy goes very fast and it seems to be working hard on getting rid of any barriers, making the rocks roll away fast and aggressively like a mountain river in summer. whereas other times the energy might seem to be even going back to dormant. it will not go dormant again but it could be moving very slow.
so how do we manage these different currents?
my first suggestion is to let Her do. surrender. do not fight the water, do not try to keep your rocks or save your dam, do not try to push it to go slower or faster. your ego will not succeed in the long run, and you could harm your nervous system in the intent of fighting against the flow.
let Her do. let God do. surrender yourself.
it’s helped me to visualise the energy flowing through my main channel like a river. by imaging this, you are facilitating the removal of rock and the free-flow of the energy.
be the river bed. be the ground beneath the river, the ground that holds space for the water. observe how the water moves from the stability of the ground.
hence: stay grounded. spend time by the river, observe how it is unchanging in its changing nature. observe how water can never stop flowing, how things are forever flowing.
everything is temporary. a river such as the Holy Ganga goes a very long way before it finally arrives to the sea. it is born from the highest peaks, when ice is melt. if you’re ice, let the energy melt you. tears will come when ice becomes water. then it starts flowing down as a small stream. sometimes it might hang out there in a lake in the mountains, and it might seem like the water is barely moving. here you can enjoy the fresh air and the view, there is peace and everything seems to be quiet. all of a sudden you could be falling down into a waterfall, fast-paced and violently. the water has to find its way through all the rocks that are on its way. eventually, you will reach the valleys – the river is now strong and flows effortlessly. even then, one day heavy rain could have you flood out.
change is permanent. even when we reach the sea, there are currents and waves in the oceans.
so if you find yourself in the rocky heights or in the waterfalls – fear not. this is not forever. the water is following its natural course. we cannot avoid the waterfalls, so the best we can do is take care of ourselves when it happens with compassion and a strong will to grow.
when you are free falling, trust that this is a necessary step in order to reach the calm valleys. do not doubt: the river will reach the ocean.
when your energy (river) reaches the ocean (Oneness), it will be clear why you had to travel all the way from the heights of the mountains. just as the river becomes the sea, your consciousness will be expanded.
the whole point of Kundalini awakening: this is a consciousness expansion. you will feel the whole river, the ocean and all the rivers around you – just like the ocean that feels all the rivers that flow into it.
the energy inside of you will forever change. the silent consciousness that observes the changes is unchanging. find the witness.
when you meditate – find the witness. when you cry – find the witness. when you laugh – find the witness. when you walk – find the witness. when you talk – find the witness. let yourself feel – and find the witness. be fully there, be fully human – and find the witness.

i also recommend to read Siddharta by Hermann Hesse, there’s this beautiful description of the river being a spiritual teacher or catalyser of enlightenment.
